Young Pathologists' Section Liaison Program

The YPS Liaison Program consists of active TSP Junior Members that represent 10 different pathology programs from across the state. Each YPS Liaison serves a two-year term, with oversight by the YPS Chairs. 

Purpose of the YPS Liaison Program:
  • Increase awareness of the Texas Society of Pathologists (TSP) and of the YPS
  • Recruit new members
  • Serve as ambassadors to residents/fellows at local university
  • Strengthen and complement existing outreach activities in TSP
  • Increase involvement of young members
  • Facilitate two-way communication

YPS Liaison Time Commitment

  • YPS Liaison Orientation (held via conference call)
  • Participation in at least two TSP board meetings a year (Liaisons do not have voting powers on the TSP board.)
    • January – TSP Annual Meeting
    • August – held in conjunction with YPS Retreat
    • Additional TSP Board meetings may be held throughout the year, as determined by the TSP Board of Directors
  • Attend at least one YPS business meeting a year
  • Occasional phone calls/emails to individual residents/fellows and TSP members
  • Submit a brief survey at the conclusion of term about experience with the program
